There a lot..most of which my smart ass never followed. One was don't ever think of yellow iron as an investment. It's a tool, a means to an end.. wish I had listened better. Another was understand your numbers. That I've done an ok job on but it's a big picture. It's a broad statement that's a bit of a cliche. But it means more than know your costs. It's how to apply that knowledge. Know your competitors numbers. Know your employees numbers. Know your end game numbers. There's lots of numbers you need to know. I guess it depends on where your at in life as to what numbers are most important.. Yea, there a lot of good advice out there over the years. Some good, some not so good. Some I'm glad I didn't listen to. Some I wish I had..

Don’t be afraid to throw out darts with high numbers attached .. it’s better to stick one high end dart than 16 little ones .. on this business once you reach the point where less jobs equals more money your on the path to success ..
